Situated in the heart of London, Hertford House is home to one of the world’s finest collections of French eighteenth-century Old Master paintings and decorative arts.
The Back State Room is located on the ground floor of Hertford House and is a wonderful space for a small dinner. The room is a tribute to the patronage of King Louis XV of France and his mistress Madame de Pompadour. The room has rich red silk lined walls and contains wonderful game paintings and some of the finest examples of Sèvres Porcelain in the Collection.
The Back State Room is adjacent to the Courtyard and so benefits from the fading evening daylight. The Back State Room can accommodate up to 30 guests for dinner on rounds or 18 on longs.
A Back State Room dinner would also include a pre-dinner standing drinks reception held in the first floor Drawing Room Suite, a suite of five interconnected galleries that provide a relaxed and intimate space for a drinks reception.
